How to Draw Direction Ref Circles

Steps​

  1. Search for Direction Ref Circle Entity

    1. Open the BuildNow plugin from the ribbon and select the Create Entities option.
    2. In the Create Entities search bar, search for DirRef.
    3. Click on the circle icon to open the Direction Ref Circle window docked to the right side of the screen.

  2. Draw the first set of direction ref circles

    1. Locate the main abutting road for the plot.
    2. In the Direction Refs window, click on the "Draw Direction Refs" button.
    3. In one of the floors in the building, draw a polyline by selecting a start point and end point.
    4. Start Direction Ref circle is created where the start point is placed. End Direction Ref circle is created where the end point is placed.
    5. The line joining the center of the Start reference circle and the center of the End reference circle must point towards the main abutting road.

  3. Copy the direction ref circles to other floor plans

    1. Copy the created direction ref circles.
    2. Select the base point as one of the corners of a Staircase or Lift Shaft within the floor plans.
    3. Paste the copied direction ref circles by selecting the corresponding base point on the Staircase or Lift Shaft in the other floor plans.

  4. Copy the direction ref circles to the Proposed Works

    1. Copy the Direction ref circles from one of the floors.
    2. Select the base point as one of the corners of the BUA polyline that coincides with the corresponding corner on the proposed work.
    3. Paste the copied direction ref circles by selecting the corresponding corner point on the proposed work.
    4. The marking data (Start and End) will be automatically assigned based on the orientation of the circles.

Drawing Conventions​

  • Direction reference circles must be drawn within __BN_ProposedWork, __BN_FloorPlan polylines.
  • Direction Reference circles must be drawn such that when the floor plans are stacked, they are properly aligned.
  • In Layout With Housing projects, Direction Ref Circles must also be drawn in __BN_SubPlotSitePlan polylines for the __BN_BuildingPlan polyline.
